FAQ’s About Social Security Disability

April 28, 2015

Q: How do I know if you can help me?

A: The only way to know if we can help you is for you to present your case to us so that we can review your work and medical history and ask questions about your disability.  Contact us right away for your free consultation on your case.

Q: Social security has already denied my application for benefits.  What can you do about this?

A: Actually, most applications for Social Security Disability (SSD) or Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI) payments are denied the first time.  The important thing is not to wait too late to call us after you receive your denial; there are deadlines for each review and appeal step; and to prepare a complete, convincing case to present in response to your denial, we will need time.

Q: What will it cost to have you represent me as I try to get Social Security Disability Insurance?

A: You will pay us nothing for your consultation or for preparing your applications, appeals, and other presentations for hearings and review by judges unless you are awarded benefits.  Federal law provides that the only fee we can collect is a percentage of any award we help you qualify for.

Q: How much money could I receive each month in disability benefits?

A: If you are entitled to Social Security Disability benefits your monthly amount should equal to 80% of your Average Current Earnings (ACE).  Social Security will give you an estimate when you file your initial application.  You can go to the following link to calculate your benefit amount:http://ssa.gov/planners/calculators.htm

If you have been denied Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) contact the Tiveron Law Law Firm today.  Statistics show that people represented by attorneys are more successful in obtaining Social Security benefits than people without attorney representation.  Our firm will take a look at your Social Security case to see what benefits you are entitled to and how we can help you obtain the Social Security benefits you deserve.

Disabled persons or their families are eligible to collect SSDI.  Once benefits begin, they will continue as long as the person remains disabled.  At Tiveron Law, we provide our clients with the information needed to make an informed decision regarding Social Security Disability laws and regulations.  An understanding of your legal rights can help you deal effectively with your disability and the resulting financial issues.

If your claim is denied, contact Tiveron Law.  We know that our help can make a difference in whether or not you are successful in winning on appeal.  The Government’s own statistics show that benefits are awarded far more frequently to people with attorneys than to those that handle their own claims without an attorney to represent their best interests.  For instance, as part of the claims process, you may have a hearing before an administrative law judge, and that appearance is a legal proceeding.  An attorney or disability representative experienced in social security disability claims can help you at the hearing and may mean the difference between your receiving benefits or not.

The sooner you contact us, the better.  However, representation makes the most difference at the hearing stage.  It is very important that you arrange for attorney representation early enough to allow time for hearing preparation.  It is best to call Tiveron Law as soon as your application for benefits is denied.  Much pre-hearing preparation, analysis, and evidence gathering goes into shoring up your case.  Call us at 716-636-7600.
