Legal Limelight #6

May 22, 2017

Legal Limelight, a weekly feature, includes a Q&A with one of our attorneys or valued employees. Keep reading to learn all about this week’s guest, Linda Grear.

Q: How many years have you been with Tiveron Law?

A:  I’ve been with Tiveron Law for 16 years

Q: What is your area of practice?

A: For the past 22 years, I have concentrated on Estates, Estate Planning, and Elder Law.

Q: Where did you attend school?

A: I went to Buffalo State College for an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, then, I went to the University of Akron in Ohio for Law School.

Q: Why did you become a lawyer?

A: When I was in undergraduate school, I took a Constitutional Law class because I’d initially planned on becoming a journalist or broadcaster. Once I started this class, I loved it! It completely changed the direction of where I thought I was headed.

Q: Why did you choose to practice in Buffalo?

A: I am a local girl, originally from Niagara County. I left to go to law school for a few years, but, came right back. I always knew I would come back to Buffalo because I have a close-knit Italian family who all live here.  My husband’s family is in Western New York also, so, coming back to Buffalo made a lot of sense for us.

Q: What’s the one thing you will want your clients to know about you?

A: I hope that when clients meet me they find that I am approachable and I really do care about them. I will always try to make myself accessible to them.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Buffalo?

A: Buffalo has such a wonderful opportunity for eating out. Visiting other parts of the country, you come to realize how much of an opportunity we have here in Buffalo to eat so many different kinds of great food. My favorite place right now is The Remington Seafood Exchange, but, Deep South Taco is also a fun place to visit.

Q: Where’s one place in the world you’d like to travel?

A:  I’ve been fortunate to travel over the years. I have been to Europe a couple of times, but I’ve never made it to Paris, France. I would like to go there.

Q: Which is your favorite book?

A:  I just read “A Hope More Powerful Than the Sea” by Melissa Fleming and it was really moving.

Q: If you hadn’t become a lawyer, which profession would you have chosen?

A: I’d probably want to be working in the performing arts or theater, in some capacity.
