Ethan S. Notarius

Ethan S. Notarius is Counsel with Tiveron Law, focusing his practice on civil litigation, business disputes, insurance coverage matters, premises liability, products liability, and general risk management. He brings a broad litigation background to the firm, having represented individuals, businesses, insurers, municipalities, manufacturers, and small business owners in matters involving negligence, breach of contract, commercial disputes, indemnification, regulatory compliance, and business torts.

Before joining Tiveron Law, Mr. Notarius gained extensive experience handling complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts. His work has included drafting and arguing dispositive motions, managing all phases of discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing appellate briefs, attending mediations, and working directly with experts, engineers, and clients on product inspections, accident investigations, and litigation strategy.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Notarius has counseled businesses on risk management, contract issues, insurance coverage, compliance matters, employment-related concerns, and pre-litigation dispute resolution. His experience allows him to help clients approach legal challenges with practical guidance, careful preparation, and a clear understanding of both the immediate dispute and the larger business considerations involved.

Mr. Notarius earned his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Buffalo Environmental Law Journal and completed a Legal Research & Writing Fellowship. He also earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Notarius has served on the Board of Directors for the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York. He is fluent in Spanish and remains active in the Western New York community through his passion for alpine ski racing and sailboat racing. Ethan is a USSA Certified Coach for a local junior alpine ski racing team, where he helps young athletes develop their skills and confidence on the slopes. He is also a member of the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club and serves as a Race Committee Official for the Club’s Tuesday Night Race Series, reflecting his continued commitment to teamwork, competition, and community involvement.
